I thought I shouldn't start a new thread so will post CNI related question here.

I have Wiser 2 connected to CBUS and configured for remote access.
I can access it from IPHONE or PC from anywhere however I cant access CBUS throough a Toolkit in a remote location.

I used Clipsal IPCONFIG utility to scan the network it is showing IP Address of the Wiser 2 correctly: 192.168.1.20 CNI port 10001

When I do a scan in a Toolkit through network interface on a local subnet it comes up under the same IP and CNI port 192.168.1.20 CNI port 10001 and I can connect to it and make changes to the units on the CBUS network.

The problem comes with PICED. In the project settings Wiser - Properties - C-BUS properties I have selected option Direct connection. When I try to change it to 192.168.1.20 CNI port 10001 and save the project its giving me error IP 14198 All Wiser IP addresses must be unique.

I searched the forum and from what I understand Wiser should have two IPs - one for CNI and one for the actual wiser for web interface, etc. I tried to play around with IPs in Wiser webinterface - System Utilities and also through CLIPSAL IPCONFIG utility but can't get it to obtain two different IPs from my router.

That was true for the Wiser 1 but the Wiser 2 is different. The Wiser 2 has an internal CNI that allows you to use Toolkit or other applications + an internal direct connection PCI that it uses itself. The Direct Connection option is correct for a Wiser 2 and the Wiser 2 only has a single IP address.

    So the questions remains:

Is it possible to connect with Toolkit from remote location (not on the same local network) ?

You can port forward to WiserIP:10001 for remote C-Bus network access via Toolkit but I would strongly recommend not doing that from the public Internet as there is no authentication on the port and random probing from the Internet may cause bad things to happen. You should setup a VPN in the router to allow you access to the local LAN and then connect to the Wiser 2.
