Will the wireless hand held remote be supported by the software and be able to be programed as the other wireless devices ?

No. Its essentially a 1 way device.. it cant be programmed. Other devices such as wall plates are set up to work with a specific remote (or remotes). Currently this can only be done via learn mode.. soon after release we will expand the wallplate's user interface to include configuration of remote control assignments. (done via serial number and button number of the remote control).

The Wireless Remote key events simulate the keys on the wallplate unit or plug adaptor unit that the remote is linked to. Think of the Wireless Remote as a wireless device that you use to remotely press the keys on the wallplate or plug adaptor with.

There is no mechanism to program the Wireless Remote, it is a Transmit Only device.

I have worked a way out.
I was wanting to control lighting on the wired network.
I have programmed an address in one of the plug adaptor key addresses and I programmed the remote through learn mode to the plug adaptor keys.
    Works great.
The double click function is a great addition.
