Can Toolkit be modified to allow the actual GA value to be changed to another number? Leaving the tag name unchanged.

Just like in CBus V2 Project Manager.

That's unlikely to happen at this stage.

We do have a feature suggestion on the board to implement a wizard that lets you select a bunch of units and opt to replace one Group with another. Would that address your concerns?

Also.. in addition to what Daniel said..

Its a bit of a can of worms.. for unit programming in the database we only store the numerical Group Address.. and of course on the Network only the Numerical Address is stored.. so changing "Kitchen Lights" from GA 1 to GA 2 would leave all of your input and output units disconnected..

The need for re-allocating GA's tends to come up when I am creating the CBus DB offsite, adding all my Tags in to the various applications.

So the wizard would not be of any assistance as I have not yet assigned the GA's to the input & output units. Therefore I would be unaffected (as Duncan suggested) by the input & output units now having the incorrect information.

OK thanks for that info Peter.. I've logged the issue.. If we get time and we can come up with a way to protect the vast majority of users from the unforseen consequences that might follow a Group readdress..

In the meantime, I'm afraid you'll be stuck with copying the text of the tag.. renaming it and pasting the Text back into a newly created Group.
