    Hey all,

Am a new member, have done basic intro course and have a query.
Have PIR sensors in several hallways in house and would like them to activate several groups of lighting at say 20%, that would time out after 10mins. (kids using toilets at night etc) Is this possible. I have tried several methods without luck?

    pretty easy actually

    1. You need to go in Advanced tab and edit Light and Dark tabs. You have to place recall1 (or ramprcl1, which will dim) on Short Press, Retrig on Short Release and Long Release.

    2. Than you need to edit what "Recall1" does - this is being done under Store1 column on the same page (place 20% on groups you want to turn on)

    3. After all edit, what "Retrig" does under Timers and Expiry command (10 mins, offkey).

    You're done=)

One of my integrators made it to go 100% daytime and 20% nighttime, using AND logic with schedules on C-Touch. But this will be next step for you though ;)

And if you edit the "Blocks" tab to look like this then you will get the PIR motion turning on and off up to 4 groups at once. This works because the PIR functions are being assigned to 4 different "Blocks" and hence 4 different group addresses.

    Easy

Thanks for the tips. Got it working OK. Have not had a play with this gear for a few years and am a bit rusty but its all coming back now. A bit shocked at the screen shot though! Looks nothing like my old version.
Obviously my version is way out of date, V2.1.0. to be precise.
Hence I have been to the download page and am a little confused. For a new install do I load installation software or tool kit software? Tool Kit software says it replaces ageing installation software. I would think mine qualifies as ageing?? Any suggestions??

    Hi Bruce,

C-Bus Installation Software version 2.7.x (or as we call it, V2) is the old software which is no longer being worked on, there will be no more releases apart from ultra-urgent emergency fixes.

Toolkit is completely new software written from the ground up, it is intended to replace all the functionality of V2, and add new functionality.

You can install them together on the same machine without conflict, you just can't use them on the same PCI at the same time. So feel free to download and try out Toolkit, of course do back up your existing projects first in V2. If you would rather stay with V2, then download the latest version of C-Bus Installation Software instead.

    Hope this helps!
