Orphaned command Error message

    I have just added 2 dimmers to a network of approximately 55 units. The systemm seems to be functioning normally but I am getting the following error message in the C-Gate window

    20080724-130505 840 //HOUSE/254 105ef66b-82a1-42c7-9305-bcefd2c7076e Orphaned command reply for unit 43 (suggests unit address conflict)

    20080724-130505 840 //HOUSE/254 105ef66b-82a1-42c7-9305-bcefd2c7076e Orphaned command reply for unit 48 (suggests unit address conflict)

    The units I added are units 43 and 48.

    Is there a problem and how can I resovle it?

    Hi Htnut,

    Sometimes when you add units to a network they may have the same address as existing units, which produces the error you see in C-Gate.

    To solve this you need to use Toolkit to scan the network. This automatically includes a duplicate address check and will unravel the network for you, moving the two units to new addresses.

    Hi Htnut,

    Can you please identify the unit types and firmware versions of the two units in question?

    You can get this information from the network units view in Toolkit after a scan.

    Hi Daniel

    The units in question are L5504D2AP dimmers. Firmware version 1.6.00

    I have now added a 3rd unit of the same type and version and am now getting 3 error messeges

    Hi Htnut,

    The newer output units produce some messages that C-Gate does not yet recognise, causing C-Gate to display the "Orphaned command reply" messages, however, it is not an error and does not affect functionality in any way ... AS LONG AS the network has been correctly scanned, which you have done.

    Thanks for reporting that. This will be fixed in a later release.
