Could you please let me know where I can get the IR Codes for the 5034TX, preferably in a format suitable for Crestron systems?

    Thanks
    Thomas

Coppo has put a .CCF file for the 5034tx on the remote central site (www.remotecentral.com). If you download it and load it into Prontoedit you will be able to cut and paste the codes into Deal for Windows and generate a Crestron IR file

If you are using Crestron you should be using a serial or ethernet connection to C-BUS thus it gives you 2 way communications with great feed back.
There are modules on crestrons web site or you can make your own as we have.

I have posted a IR file for the 5034TX anway it has all the A,B & C codes.

    Hi Htnut and Rosco,

Thank you for the info. I have found that file on the referred website, and will send it and the info to the Crestron fellows.
I have advised on the one-way IR link, as the Crestron side is done by another contractor, who is not familiar with C-Bus, and as the site is relatively large in terms of C-Bus, while small in terms of Crestron. There are a number of management functions running on the C-Bus side, and I rather prevent inadvertant messing about from Crestron, which would only soil the name of C-Bus.
Perhaps over-cautious, but with a site 1500km from my office, it is better.

However, Rosco, can you tell me if you find it necessary or useful to utilise Crestron or AMX equipment at times? I am aware of the fact that we cannot send strings, especially with pauses via C-Bus equipment, but do you find this to be required frequently?

    Cheers
    Thomas

Crestron is not cheap compared to other control systems, but we find it very useful in a lot of our large installations primary for control of home theatres and A/V equipment with the use of there wireless touch screens.
With a lot of wireless tablets now available we still use the crestron processors with there econtrol software as we have found it very powerful and cost competivetly as you don't need there expensive touch screens.
We have invested a lot of time in delevoping C-BUS macros for crestron to give us full functionality of C-BUS, therefore, until clipsal come up with a color touch screen with video inputs, homegate and the multi-room audio system is released we will still be using Crestron.
But it wont be long until they catch up hopefully.
