Hi guys, I'm new here and was helping I could get some friendly advice.

I have a client who has cbus in a single room and I need to obtain the group addresses for the 4 lights that cbus is controlling so I can integrate it into his control 4 universal remote but the client does not have access to the original cbus integrator or the project file.

Is this information something I can view or extract with the help of the cbus toolkit or is there any other way?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer .

    Rob

If you have no idea what the group address are the easiest way is probably to connect to the network with toolkit and watch the log when you turn the light on and off via the switch you will see which group address is for each light

    OK that's great , that's exactly what I need.

    Thanks for your advice
The customer has a 5500cn connected. Would I be correct to assume I'll be able to log onto it via the toolkit as long as it's on the network?

    Thanks again

Yep, in toolkit just create new project, then add a network with connection to cbus as a cni with the ip address etc, then connect to the network and look at the logs tab

Do the client a favour, give them a USB stick with the project on it for a backup :D

I generally tape it to the inside of the cabinet door where the cni/PCU is so the installer/integrator can't miss it.
