    Hi All,
I'm a general IT guy - normally I spend my days upgrading HDDs to SSDs and reinstalling Windows.

I have just spend a few hours with a customer who has a lovely big house with the most complex heating system I've ever seen.
Initially the job was to help them get back in to the android tablet that they had been left with to control the system.

They had been waiting weeks to speak to the installer who eventually said they couldn't help as they couldn't contact the 'specialist' who set up the automation system. Usual story of only when the weather turns realising that the heating upstairs is not coming on when it should.

I've agreed to help, though on the understanding that I'm working things out from scratch - I don't claim any expertise other than general troubleshooting skills.

I've worked out their 'lock pattern' (they are so insecure) and can now get in to the Wiser2 app.

I can not find any documentation on the app - there are docs on the 'Wiser' app that seems to be unrelated.

The menu on the LHS seems to be chaotic - heating settings, lighting, and major admin things sprinkled in together.

I'm not sure how much I'm seeing is fixed by the app, and how much was set up by the the installer (and his 'specialist')

Does anyone have any documentation (for the Wiser2 app - not the hardware module which always comes up in searches) ?

Failing that is there anyone who would be able to sanity check a few assumptions I've made whilst trying to understand how it is meant to work ?

I hope I don't offend anyone when I say this app is horrible (for a nerd like me) - and just incomprehensible to my 80 year old customer !

    Hi

Where are you located? Disappointing the original installer is not available. I bump into this issue regularly I'm afraid when helping end-users. The details you find in the app are produced by software (PICED) that creates the GUI.

    Cheers,
    Chris

    Hi Conformist,
    I'm in Worcestershire.

What I'm really trying to work out is what takes precedence over what - for instance there is a thermostat screen - it only has two of the four thermostats in the house on it. It shows the current status of those two thermostat as ON or OFF - but it seems you can tap the button and it flips its - overriding it. But its not clear to me whether that just stays overrided or re-sets at some point.
There is a heating status screen - again it shows status, but seems like it is not just showing status, but allowing overrides.

I've spend a few hours with the customer trying to work out what is what, but with limited success so far. I'm going back tomorrow to try and find the various valves and pumps armed with an IR thermometer and a big sheet of blank paper ! Wish me luck

Hi, im also a noob when it comes to cbus installs, but im learning fast, uou should use toolkit, this can give you a layout, list of all the cbus controls available, you can then use this in piced to match up the functions there. Lots of reports are availabe in piced and toolkit printvthem out and it will make things easier.
Toolkit and piced both available from Clipsal website.

    Regards
    Trevor
