It has been years since I did my training and over that time new stuff has been added in. I like to keep up to date but there is one that I appear to have missed and I cant work out what it is for.

In toolkit, under the lighting application, you can add a level to any of the groups. What is this for, why would I want to do it?

The help file does not tell me much at all about levels and a search here on levels returns way too many results to be helpful

No idea, actually. Seems a wierd thing to want to do. Perhaps I need to open a defect to get that taken out :)

To be honest, I was reluctant to ask the question because I felt that I should have known, so I am glad to see those responses.

Thanks for the info - at least I know I have not missed something.

Being able to label specific levels within a lighting group is useful if you are doing things like triggering IR from specific levels or triggering Scenes from specific levels in PICED. It also means you can have 2 unique labels for things like "Motion Sensor Armed" and "Motion Sensor Disarmed" where the two are just levels 0% and 100% of the same group.

I wondered the same thing for a long time, however I did find them quite useful defining preset positions for my shutter relays.
