The Neo Scene Editor

The Neo Scene Editor

C-Bus Toolkit sports a nifty new Neo Scene Editor, it rarx!!

It is important to note that at any point when I say "Neo Scenes" this also related to Reflection and Saturn Unit Scenes. The Neo Scene Editor is also almost identical to the Scene Editor that you will soon see for Wireless Units.

The Neo Scene Editor is best experienced whilst the Toolkit is connected to the actual Network that scenes will 'live' on. But, of course, you can use it whilst just 'working against a database'.

To invoke the Neo Scene Editor, edit a Neo Unit. You will first see the simple view of a Neo Unit, which looks like this:

    NeoSimple.jpg

Click the "Advanced" Button in the bottom left hand corner to expose all of the programming options for this wonderful unit. Select the Scenes "tab". You will see this:

The "grid" you can see shows a summary of the Scenes stored on this unit, we dont have any scenes yet as you can see. Press the "Edit Scenes" button in the bottom left hand corner to invoke the Scene Editor, it looks like this when first invoked:

A Neo unit can have 8 scenes. Of up to 10 groups (or components) each. But the total number of components across ALL scenes cannot exceed 40. So for eg, you could have "8 scenes of 5 groups" or "5 scenes of 8 groups" of "4 scenes of 10 groups"

To add Groups to a scene you can select them from the list on the right of the screen then press the "<" button to move them into the scene. You can "Multi-select" Groups by holding down the Ctrl Key as you click them. As you can see below I've added 8 Groups to the Scene and I've set their levels using the slider:

If I'm connected to the Network and I'd like to apply this scene to the Network I can press the "Live" button at the top of the screen, the Scene will be 'injected' into the Network and as you move the Sliders for the Group Levels the Network will be adjusted to track your changes.

If you'd prefer to use the Input Units at the site to fine tune the scene then you can do that, move around the site and adjust the scene to your liking then press the "Capture" button. Toolkit will get the levels from the Network and adjust your Scene programming to match what you've set up on the Network.

You can copy Scenes using the "Copy Scene" button. The scene components can then be pasted into another scene on the same unit or you can paste the scene into a completely different unit! rockin!..
