    Hi,

I would be great if, as well as the TCPIP routines, PICED provided a Wake on LAN magic packet sending function to a known MAC address, and perhaps a Ping to an IP address ... to check the thing that just got woken actually did ...

Maybe the WOL could be achieved by overloading it on opening a socket to the subnet broadcast address and then sending the magic payload as ordinary data ...

    Thanks,
    Dave

We were planning to support UPD sometime soon. UDP broadcasts can then be used to send the "magic packet" for Wake On LAN (WOL).

We hadn't considered Ping, but it sounds like a good idea.
