    Hi all

Has anyone experienced the following and know how to fix?

The Wiser unit is powered off (only the cbus light is red). I removed the power cable from the power point for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in. The lights all come back on and it looks like it's all okay but then after about 30 seconds it returns to the powered off state (only the cbus light red).

I've done this a number of times and it's always the same result.

    Thanks for your help

Are you referring to the Wiser CNI or the Wiser router? The Wiser CNI is the smaller box with 2 LEDs. One LED for C-Bus and one LED for ethernet. The Wiser router is the larger box with antenna and multiple LEDs, 10 LEDs. The router does not have an LED for C-Bus.

If you are seeing the Wiser CNI's ethernet LED go off, that would suggest that the ethernet link is going off. I would verify cabling, I would also check if the power supply for the CNI is good.

    Hi terryd,

Have you tried using a different Wiser home controller plug pack power supply?

    Wiser router

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.

I was referring to the lights on the router and the other light on the CNI going off. Only the CBus light on the CNI is on, all the lights on the router and the other light on the CNI are off.

I haven't tried an alternate power supply but yes I think that's certainly worth a try, not sure where to get one but will go back to the installers>

    Thanks again.

Yup, sounds like a power supply fault. The router power LED being off is a good indication of that. The reason the C-Bus LED on the CNI is on, is because it is powered via C-Bus. The rest of the LEDs use power from the power supply adapter. I would also just reseat the adapter and bus-bar to make sure it isn't just something a bit loose.

    Wiser router

Thanks for the information, yes it does sound like the power supply problem. The only reservation I have is that it's quite strange that the router powers up for about 30 seconds and then powers down.

I'll let you know what the result is.

I had exactly the same fault where the wiser would run for about a minute then shut down. A meter on the power supply showed it was shutting down after a short time of running. A new power supply solved the problem. I just replaced mine with a generic 12V 1.5A plug pack and have had no further problems.
