Yeah I have SSD
Try Another PAC Unit I'm going to try another PACA. Until then I've done everything else. Cheers and thanks.
I just tried uninstalling the PACA and driver. Had to run Toolkit install to get it back. If the PACA is not even showing as an unknown device in device manager when you plug it in I would think that it is the PACA or the VM causing the problem.
Open ones mouth and prove oneself a fool Well, I stand abashed.... There is a 64bit version of the PACA drivers and as DarylMc says, the setup doesn't work in that pressing next doesn't do anything, only pressing cancel does something, it cancels it. I still am suspecting that my PAC Unit is faulty because even in Windows 32 bit Architecture when connecting it "PCI failed to reset" and it's never done that before but seems to be more regular than ever now though occasionally it does connect.
Hello Chris That installer doesn't seem to work for me. But as I said Toolkit installation is installing the driver on my 64 bit Windows7 without any problems. Perhaps the easiest thing for you is to try another PACA.
Different 5500PACA Just got hold of a 2007 PAC Controller and plugged it in to Windows XP Pro and it found it and installed it and it connected to the C-Bus network on it's 1st attempt. I shut down Windows XP and started Windows 7 Pro 64bit and it loaded it immediately and connected to the C-Bus network without delay. I unplugged the PAC from the USB port and plugged it into the other port and it was found & installed immediately. Loaded Toolkit and it connected to the C-Bus immediately. Have to try Windows 8 next. So, faulty PAC Controller. Dry Joint in the solder? Who cares at at least we know what the problem was. Interesting to note though is that if you change ports on XP the serial port number changes, on 7 it doesn't - stays the same number. Now for the the eDLT crashing woes. I'll have to get one as I installed them yesterday and have none to experiment with.
