I have a small site (3 bed unit) that has a now failing Vantage Controls system. They run a 2-wire 36vdc bus cable... Has anyone successfully ran a C-Bus network on a cable like this? This would only be for the field loop est 100m in length.

Some time ago there were comments on this forum that C-Bus could "run over wet string".

Although it's not Cat 5 cable, the chances of 100 m working are very high.

yeah it will probably work very well - remebering when C-Bus firs came out it was run using a 2 pair cat 3 cable very small twist ratio, also remember the route lenght is a total of all cables - I think the vantage used a lot of star configuration so the lenght isnt just the longest run but the accumulated toatal of each run of the star point.
