    Hi all,

When I create a new project and chose "Transfer Project From Unit" I receive all the buttons and scenes (which need some work to get them to normal buttons rather than images), but no Logic:eek:.

Black and White C-Touch Mark 2

    Looking forward to good news!!

The B&W Mk2 Touchscreen is available in 2 versions, with and without the logic engine.

The PICED project type specifies whether it is for a unit with or without logic.

If your physical unit has the logic engine, then all you will need to do is change your project type to match. If your unit does not have the logic engine you will need to change your unit.

    Device type is set to:
Black and White C-Touch Mark 2

Unit does have logic (lots of it!)

    PICED 4.8.0.0

    Thanks

So, are you saying that, on the Project Details Wizard, Project Type page, the Device Type is specified as:

    • Black and White C-Touch Mark;
    • or
    • Black and White C-Touch Mark (no logic)?
What exactly do you mean by this? Do you mean that you have logic code in your project, but after transferring to the unit, the logic does not run in the unit?

My wife says I don't explain myself very well.

    The whole story.........
I reformated my laptop, backed up all my data, alarm systems, phone systems etc. but not PICED:eek:

    Went to site
    "create a new project"
    "Transfer Project From Unit"
"Black and White C-Touch Mark 2:" (this is what project details says)
Came back to office spent a few hours changing all the buttons back to buttons with text, rather than images.

Clicked on LOGIC icon to make the one change the customer wants...........
    and there are no "Moduels":eek::eek:

    Unit still operating nicely

    Thanks

I'm quite sure the logic isn't retrieved when you retrieve a project from a B&W MKII screen. I seem to remember getting caught on this myself in the past
    :(

Conformist is correct (it does happen occasionally ;) )

When a project gets transferred to the C-Touch unit it gets "compiled" into a format that the C-Touch can understand. When the project gets transferred back to the PC, PICED has to try to de-compile the project. This is quite difficult for buttons and sliders, but is completely impossible for the logic.

So the bad news is that you won't be able to get your logic code back.

I understand your disappointment. We are going to try to fix this (to the degree it is possible) in the future.

    Issue number 16359

    Hello Darren.

Has there been any advancement on this?
We do a lot of service work and upgrade/additional work to existing sites so this still presents quite a problem for us. Maybe in your spare time... :)

We started looking at this, but it turns out to be more complex that we first thought. We are still hoping to do it soon.

It is only the B&W C-Touch that you cannot retrieve logic from? Does everything get retrieved from the Wiser? or PAC?

Yes, but if you save a project to a black and white C-Touch with PICED V4.11.1 or later, then you will be able to retrieve the logic at a later date (provided there was sufficient spare memory to store it in the first place).

    Yes

    Yes

Thanks Darren. I remembered something about logic not transferring, but it was obviously just this thread i had read. Good to hear everything from the Wiser transfers.
