Version 3.3 of PICED, HomeGate and Schedule Plus is now available. For details of the new features and fixes, see "What's New" in the respective products.

You will need to have V1.1.9 of the C-Bus ToolKit installed to use version 3.3.

    PICED

This version also includes version 3.3 of the Colour C-Touch software. It is recommended that this be used to fix the problem where the Colour C-Touch crashes after several weeks (see http://www.cbusforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1436). This can be fixed by the use of a Schedule executing the "re-start" Special Function.

It also includes an update to the PAC firmware to make it operate with #0 characters in strings (see http://www.cbusforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1655).

    PICED V3.3 Upgrade (13MB)

    PICED V3.3 Full Version (29MB)

    HomeGate and Schedule Plus

FREE HomeGate and Schedule Plus upgrades are available to licensed users of version 3 or later of these products.

    Schedule Plus V3.3 Upgrade (10MB)

    HomeGate V3.3 Upgrade (8MB)

    Hmmm,

"Added Re-Start Special Function. A Schedule executing a re-start should be used on ALL projects."

So we now have to open ALL the projects for CTC's in the field (25+ in our case) & add a schedule to have the CTC reset itself? Couldn't this function have been implemented automatically with firmware 3.3? What frequency does Clipsal recommend we set the CTC's to reset at? (Windows default: 30min?)
Obviously this a band-aid "fix" for the issue of CTC's crashing, what will happen to the schedule to restart CTC after you fix the real problem to stop the crashing? Do we then re-edit ALL our projects to remove the restart schedule?

    Not happy Jan

    Hi Jay,

It certainly isn't the best work around, but the only viable one we have at the moment. The problem with doing a restart automatically is that everyone's best time for a restart is different. The problem with then automatically removing the restart later is some people will use the restart for some other purpose (beside working around the known issue) and then complain when it no longer restarts.

We are very sorry for the pain this issue is causing and hope that at least this work around will prevent (or at least reduce) the calls from your clients that you need to attend to. Once a fix is in place hopefully at least this work around also buys you the time to install the fix at a time that is more suitable to both your client and yourself.

Also by implementing the restart within the existing scheduling system we have reduced the impact of the change on the code and therefore reducing the likelihood of introducing a further problem.

Darren, would you please tell me how to access this elusive "What's New" info you refer to above... I have been looking for and asking for a change log on the various CIS software and so far have been unable to find anything.

Knowing what was actually changed would REALLY help a lot !

    Thanks, John

When you start the software for the first time, or after a version change, the "What's New" form will be displayed automatically. You can also select it from the Help | What's New menu item.

We have also published the contents of "What's New" on the web site (http://www3.clipsal.com/cis/downloads.php3) so that you can see it without having to run the software.

    Thanks Darren

When I looked the first time, the v3.3 was not yet listed on the Downloads page

Would you guys make a note to add the "Whats New" page link to the Downloads Pages for other software too... Specifically the separate Toolkit Downloads Page (BTW - why is it separate?)

    Cheers, John

The downloads page was getting too long. Eventually all products will get their own page. You'll notice that I have started to keep old version for download and added compatibility charts etc... and one page makes it all cluttered. As I find time I tidy things up. This is the same reason the downloads didn't appear till today, I don't always have the time on the day of release to update the website.

Just a note for those who are a little slack on updates like myself - the latest version of PICED will not run without the latest Toolkit installed as well.
