V3 and zone alarm

    does anyone know which setting to use so that V3 can be used on a pc running Zone Alarm?

    If you run a firewall (like zonealarm) then you need to allow java.exe to run as a server. You also need to allow Toolkit1_1.exe to access this server.

    The Zone Alarm documentation should cover how to configure this in Zone Alarm.

    seeing as zone alarm is so popular these days and this will probably be a common question... if u have ZA @ adelaide (or download a free version) and provide some screen shots for the ppl......

    I believe the tech support / documentation people are working on doco for common firewalls. (XpSp2, Nortons, ZoneAlarm, etc..). However, that's a different department so can't give specific details.

    However, I aslo believe it's a good idea to learn how to you your chosen firewall and be able to manage this stuff yourself. Not trying to be smart arse, but the security of a PC is such a important thing it can only be achieved properly with understand of the problem and knowledge of the tools. A lot of people using firewalls have them incorrectly configured and are still suseptable to attack.
