    Hi
Is it possible to get the Cbus Unit Address from the SIM, using the Cbus Serial Protocol and if so how can it be done?

It is possible, but it's not part of the published part of the protocol, so it cannot be detailed here.

I suggest you contact the C-Bus Enabled coordinator.

I have done so, and am waiting for the reply
I wonder why obtaining the Unit Address would not be disclosed publicly. It would seem that it is quite harmless, but useful to any application using the SIM

A device using the SIM needs to be careful about one really big, really important thing: The unit address can be changed over the network.

So if a serial connected device interrogates the SIM and gets the unit address, it needs to be aware that with no warning that address might change.

If you use the publicly available C-Bus Module, there is a function call in there which will return the unit address.

Thanks for the warning. That should not be a problem as we want to query for the unit address at the time of configuration only. It does not really have any effect on anything else.
