We have a house which we purchased with cbus 5 years ago. About 4 years ago the wall touch panel stopped working - the house was built in 2004 so I’m assuming it is age related.

We are looking at selling in the next 12 months and trying to decide whether to replace or remove. Is it a simple fix? Can the touch pad be replaced with a similar black and white touchscreen and the existing programming transferred or would it all need to be reprogrammed? Any rough idea on costing and who may be able to help here in Perth would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

There are two versions of the Cbus black and white touch screen. Both are discontinued, although second hand ones appear on Ebay quite often.

The more recent mark 2 versions can be repaired (search for Trevor on this site). I am not aware of anyone who services the original mark 1.

Also, the programming from the mark 2 can be retrieved and reloaded into a replacement screen. The software to do this is called PICED and available as a free download. You do it via the USB port behind the front panel.

The mark 1 programming cannot be retrieved from the unit, so would have to be rebuilt from scratch.

The mark 1 has a smaller screen of about 98mm diagonal. The mark 2 screen is about 125mm diagonal
