The maximum operative range of the gauge 5753L (360)

    Kind time of days!

    On a site of the manufacturer in the instruction on the gauge 5753L the maximum diameter of action of 5 metres. But on the same site there is an instruction the general both on a multisensor control and on the movement gauge in which diameter at the same height of 14 metres. In practice at height of 2.4 metres on what distance will be worked by the gauge?

    The combined instruction manual (newer) for both the 5753L and 5753PEIRL states the detection range as 15m in diameter at 2.4m mounting height. The detail for the detection pattern is on page 4.

    The older installation instruction you refer to is for the very first 360 degree PIR sensors that Clipsal sold, which have been obsoleted, although the catalogue number was also 5753L. If you look at the picture on the front page, you will see that this is is a different looking product. The performance of the newer 360 degree sensors is significantly better.

    Range for IR sensors varies a lot due to many factors, so it's good to have plenty of overlap between the sensors, just in case. The detection pattern is also circular, so if, say, you place the centres of the sensors 15m apart you will have lots of dead space where the sensor detection patterns don't overlap.
