Hey I finally got my cbus wired today and was trying to program the wall switches. Seems like its mostly ok except for one anomaly that stumps me (probably also because its 1am)

When I switch on the master bedroom light from a wall switch the fan in the bathroom comes on as well. One light switch turns the fan on for 10 mins the others just keep it on. The master bedroom light is on a dimmer unit and the bathroom fan is on a relay.

I don't believe its wiring because the local control on the relay, dimmer work fine. Its a programming problem I believe.

Some of the devices are second hand (wall switches) I have reset them but Is there something obvious im missing?

btw I tried creating a new group assigning that to the relay but it still does the same thing.

Im sure im missing something obvious.

First thing I would do is open the key input in Toolkit and go to the blocks tab.
Check that the group addresses and keys using blocks are assigned as expected.

First thing I would do is look at the log live in toolkit when you press the switch and see what is actually happening..

In Toolkit you can also look under your Project 'Tree',

After you have opened your network.
select your network number (254 probably), then go to 'Applications', then 'Lighting'. On the list, find the tag name you have assigned, for example 'Master Bed Downlight' and click on it. You will see the 'Group Dependencies' which is what network resources are using that group address. You will probably see the fan's relay module there.

    Thanks all

I looked again. It was stupid for some reason the masterbedroom group was in the area box. Consequently whenever the masterbedroom was switched on every relay (in the relay unit) was activated simultaneously. When I turned it off all the relays went off. I still don't understand why one switch would pulse the bathroom fan for 20seconds then turn off though. But when I cleared that everything worked well.

btw I am really grateful for all the help people have offered over the forums here. I am so impressed with how no one has had a go for asking obvious questions.

At 1am crazy stuff happens, my wife dislikes how much time I "waste" bringing on more and more features on the CBUS, so I rarely get to play with it before 11pm.
