    C-Bus Toolkit 1.13.0

Client called to say their small C-Bus system was behaving strangely after an extended outage (some carrier failure in the suburb for several hours - possible surge of some sort as some compressor gear in the building has failed).

    System contains several DIMDN4 / DIMPR4 / DIMPR2 / RELDN12 all controlled via KEYM8 units.

One of the DIMPR4 (v1.2.18 - others are 1.16.0) doesn't respond to any commands from keypads or Toolkit (via 5100PC serial interface).

It can be seen on the network, it displays loads etc, manual (local) buttons work.

Have tried powering down, resetting unit etc.

Is this a bung unit or something else?

    Cheers!

    Repeat problem

Hi all - I'm bumping this thread.

The faulty unit was replaced some weeks ago any everything went back to normal.

A few weeks later the fault has reappeared on the new unit.

Interesting is that the local button for the affected channel does not work either.

In short I can see the unit and control 3 of the 4 channels but not the 4th which doesn't respond locally.

Circuit is pulling about 3.2A of incandescent lamps and halogen transformers.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

    Hi factotum

If you haven't already done so, CIS tech support should be your first call.

You should provide the "catalogue number" rather than the "unit type" to determine whether they are leading or trailing edge dimmers.

Keep in mind there are capacitive loading limits for the leading edge dimmers.

With electronic transformers you probably won't be able to load the channel to its rating.

Its a L5104D5 so it's a leading edge unit from memory.

I've just seen the FAQ for the capacitive loading on the unit - I'll be back at site tomorrow so I'll have a look at what's going on. My bet is they've added something to the channel that wasn't there before.

    Not blunt at all :)

That's the FAQ I looked at. I'll hold off calling CIS until I have a look at the site tomorrow and find out if they've changed anything first...
