    Hi Everybody,
I'm considering punching a hole in my broadband NAT firewall to allow direct external net access to ServerX and my HomeGate software. Mainly for the times when I need to access my C-Bus but don't have the ability to set up a VPN to home and access from within.
I know that ServerX isn't a product of CIS Australia, but does anyone here know if there has been any problem with the web server that ServerX uses? I'm not going to use port 80, but that doesn't guarantee that it will be un-noticed.
    Any comments?
    Regards,
    Michael.

I can't comment about ServerX - but what we do is use VNC for remote access to Homegate. Right at this moment I am working on a remote machine re-configuring the Homegate screens...

Easier to set up than VPN - but I am unsure about security... although after 4 years we haven't had any breaches.

Of course, VNC isn't giving me "direct" C-bus control, but rather it's allowing me to click buttons on the existing screens in Homegate.

    Cheers, John
