Scheduled events off by one hour?

The scheduled events on my Wiser seem to be happening one hour early (e.g. the 8pm event happens at 7pm). At first I thought "@$%! daylight savings", but that doesn't make sense -- 7pm daylight time is 6pm standard time. What else could be causing this? The time displayed on the wiser UI is correct.

You can display two different times on the UI:
    - The Wiser system time
    - The local time of the device you are using to view the Wiser UI (web browser, iPhone etc)

You may be looking at the time for the device you are running the web browser on instead of the Wiser time.

I don't think so; this is the status bar at the bottom of the wiser display (labelled "system time" when expanded) and it's a minute or two behind the laptop on which i'm running the browser.

Is it all schedules that are doing this?

Are the Schedules based on sunrise/sunset time or a fixed time?

all of the 4 or 5 i've been able to check (a few happen while i'm out of the house or asleep).

i don't have any based on sunrise, but both the fixed time and the sunset-based ones are doing this.

Is there any additional information I could provide that would make it possible to diagnose this problem?

I would suggest sending your Wiser project file to Clipsal Tech Support along with details of the Wiser firmware version, details of any relevant settings in Wiser and a description of the problem you are seeing. If they can replicate the problem, then it should be straight forward to identify the cause.

I'm stumped. Here are a couple of things that might trigger some ideas:
    - does this Wiser act as the time master, ie: do you have ntp enabled in the piced project (Project Details, see tabs) and has the system got ntp sync [ For example, mine says at http://192.168.100.1/index_i.htm -> click on Wiser tab ]
Time Source NTP Master at 27/07/2011 07:21:47
    Miscellaneous HG-LAN Enabled, Schedules Enabled
    - are there any other C-Bus time masters on the network, eg: Minder Pro/Comfort
    - what version of Wiser firmware do you have? Should be something like PICED 4.10.0 and Wiser 1.23.0
    - on the Adobe Flash UI, if you click on Tools->System Utilities->C-Bus date and time, are these consistent with what you expect. Is the daylight savings checkbox checked? [ This part often catches me out, the checkbox checked means the system is in daylight savings ]

These are the ones that come to mind for now.

Above means your Wiser is time slave, ie: it is not mastering time.

yes, including "daylight savings time" checked.

Above means that you daylight savings is active, meaning your time is time - 1hour.

maybe i'm just not understanding which time is used where...

    a) on the wiser "c-bus date & time" it's showing "22:38" as the time, with "enable daylight" checked. (and on the bottom bar of all wiser screens it shows "10:38 PM".) is that standard time or daylight time?

    b) i have an event scheduled for 8pm. should i expect it to happen at 8pm standard time or 8pm daylight time?

I get confused by this stuff too. :) Here's my verbose explanation: C-Bus time is always displayed time. That is, if you see 10:38pm on the Wiser's C-Bus time, then it is 10:38pm right now for Wiser's logic. If the daylight savings flag is checked, it is still 10:38pm for Wiser's logic. If the daylight savings flag is unchecked, yes, it is still 10:38pm for Wiser's logic. The flag's effect is already taken into account in the displayed time. I hope that makes sense. If you have an 8pm event, it should happen at 8pm as shown by the Wiser's time.

that's what i had initially assumed, but i'd hoped that there was something else going on that would explain why my 8pm event happens when wiser displays the time as 7pm.
