Has anyone had success in setting up communications with C Bus and Wiser through the Samsung family hub fridges?
Not a bad idea if we can get our clients to put the money normally invested into an I Pad and wall mounting into a modem screen type fridge instead.

This would be whether the cut down browser on what is effectively just a giant tablet with custom firmware can handle Homebridge WebUi X or Openhab and nothing to do with CBUS.

You WONT be able to use the Wiser webUI on the fridge.

Wiser runs on Flash which is now deprecated and unsupported by browsers that are upto date.

Wiser 1 will NOT be getting any sort of fix.

Wiser 2 we have been told will be getting a fix but timing has not been announced.

I wouldn't like to recommend a fridge-based browser to anyone, the fridge should last 10-15 years, but with a screen and an unmaintained browser on the front it will look horribly outdated after about 7 years, so customers would be changing a fully functional fridge just because they are embarrassed and frustrated by that browser on the front.

The point about the browser being unmaintained is critical, no fridge maker would be interested in providing updates to patch security problems and maintain certificates on a browser on an old fridge, after a year or two they would have moved on to something new, and have lost interest in the redundant stuff.

If this sounds a bit cynical, just look at the smartTV market, a 5 year old smartTV will be stuck with old apps, an old interface, and negligible support. Whereas that 5 year old iPad will still be maintained
