I'm trying to restore a NAC2 from a SHAC backup file, it is a tar.gz file.
SHAC Config Backups\sysconf-5500SHAC-2024.04.25-18.45.tar.gz" (its a compressed archive file)
when I try to restore the new 5500NAC2 from this file it states " backup file is invalid"
Any suggestions? I've tried un-compressing the file first.
any way of retrieving data from the micro SD card inside the SHAC? (the SHAC died by lightning)
I've tried to update firmware every file I try to load is invalid. Trying to upgrade to 1.17
Where am I going wrong with this process?

I migrated from a SHAC to a NAC by setting up the new device and then restoring the project.

There are two types of AC backups: System configuration and project.

Do you have a project backup from the SHAC? (I shall also PM you, @kojobomb.)

    System configuration:

    I have the same challenge.

on V2 firmware, the backup/restore files are .zip and have a different directory structure to the v1.x firmware which are .tar.gz.

This seems the same for both the project backup, and system backup as far as I can tell.

    Would love a work around.

Can you clean install v1.x, restore project, upgrade to v2?

This is such a big issue. It's problematic for us and our graphics packages as our previous packages for SHAC can no longer be used on AC2. Same goes for anyone that has done a project backup on a SHAC- they won't be able to restore that onto a new controller at all.

We have an old SHAC in our office I could load the file on for you and then export the pages/widgets/graphics and object list so you can individually import them onto the NAC2 if you need. Email me [email protected]

Never mind, figured this out. Unzipped everything in the SHAC file and then rezipped it all up replicating the structure of a AC2 backup file so that it could be restored. There's probably another way to do it but this worked for me

    Fascinating, @Ks04. I'm still old-school hardware.

My reply was because I had noticed that the file name mentioned by @kojobomb was "SHAC Config Backups\sysconf-5500SHAC-2024.04.25-18.45.tar.gz". Given "sysconf" in the name it would appear to be a system configuration backup, and not a project backup.

Here's my latest set, and you can see the "sysconf" backup is tiny and different:

I am at a loss here, really frustrating.
When I saved a back up file from my dead SHAC all I had was a "sysconfig tar.gz file" I had no idea about the 2 x different backups "System configuration and project" are they saved separately? Surely they would both save when doing a backup?
I would like to factory reset the LS5500NAC and update it to the latest firmware, I cant even get it to update, it looks like it is V1 because the backup file is a tar.gz and not a zip file.
Can someone point me in the direction to get the correct firmware update file ?? and the correct process to complete update?
Did Schneider not realise that many people will be upgrading from a SHAC to an AC2 do they have any documentation on this upgrade path? or is it just me that cant figure this out?
