Relay for extractor fan?

    Quick one:

    Can I use a relay for a typical bathroom extractor fan? Worried that I might get an induction spike when it disconnects that damages the relay unit.

    Failing that, what about an older dimmer unit?

    The relay will be ok they are rated at 10A AC3 (inductive load) don't use dimmer it will cause the motor to be noisy. All so don't use a cbus change over relay they have a lower load rating.
