    It's me again,

I have written a module for Prontoscript for CBus. It's working 90%, there's a few timing issues that I'm not happy with and a few extra features I'd like to add to it, shouldn't be far away just depends on how busy I am with work?

Philips (Australia) are working on one, it uses the CBus IP network interface unit (which basically uses the same commands as you use for a serial interface, just different setup), I'm surprised they haven't released it yet.

For the RTI, at the moment they don't have the two way portion incorporated into their software yet. But I've been told on good authority that they will be using javascript just as the Prontos do. Which means I should be able to easily change my module for the pronto to RTI, which I can't wait for!!! RTI is far superior and more reliable than other remotes. Once RTI do this, they will have brands like AMX and Crestron shaking in their shoes.

    ARRGGHHH!

I really do wish all these folks would come talk to Clipsal about C-Bus Enabled. They would get a full protocol release, technical consulting support from Clipsal Engineering, and a FREE qualification test of their software implementation afterwards!!!!

Oh, that's interesting. They told me it's with Clipsal and were expecting it to get CBUS enabled soon.

Please, 2 way prontoscript for C-Bus would be great!

PS. If I was at C-Bus Enabled team I would learn from enormous success of KNX in Europe

PPS. Samsung should have C-Bus certified it's white goods long ago)

    Pronto

No, its coming up my list of things to do as i don't reckon when it arrives it will not be that great as a lot of the pronto modules are a bit lacking.

It's been released guys, about a week ago. Go to www.incontrol.com.au
You'll need to join up, no cost.

It's not bad (the module), graphics could be better, but hey that's easy to change. The module is quite quick too.

Regarding the RS232 CBUS string generator application for Pronto, I'm not sure exactly what to do here. I'm trying to generate the RS232 command to ramp channel 1 of address 3 (i.e the load which is on channel 1 of an 8 channel dimmer) to 80% over 4 seconds. My network address is 254, lighting application 056. In other words, I don't understand how I identify to the generator that I want only CH1 (of the 8 channels at address 3) to ramp. What would the string be here? I want to know what information to enter in PEP1 to download to the RFX9600 to control my CBUS lighting via RFX9600 connected to a PCI on the CBUS network.

Its nothing to do with the channel of the dimmer its the group address that is assigend to that channel of that dimmer

Thanks, got it working like magic now. This leads to the next question. If you want to control 2 different lighting address groups simultaneously with a single button press on the Pronto, do you program it as a macro in PEP (i.e. <string.address.1>delay0.2sec<string.address 2>) or can you program a scene in CBUS to perform that function, and assign an address to that scene, and have it triggered from the pronto by a single command (i.e. without needing a macro)?
At the moment I'm using a macro and when I press "lights on" on the pronto, the first lighting group comes on followed slightly behind by the 2nd (as expected). It looks untidy, I'd rather have both groups come on instantly together.
