    It is true that I have some problems with Greek SE. It is true that they manage to mess up a 2 part number order (they switch quantities!!!)

    But the L5112D5LPR6 works like a charm. This is a really very good product and in a very competitive price.

    Bravo. Excellent job people!!! :):)

    Thanks 2SC!

    Thanks for taking the time to feedback on the new dimmer. It's always quite motivating to hear stories from satisfied customers!

    What loads are you running on the dimmer channels?

    We used dimmers of 5A per channel.
    Since I like very much commercial projects I will take the opportunity to make a rough description of this project.
    The project was in one of the 4 or 5 casino - hotels in Greece, named Porto Rio Hotel in Patras, Greece. They totally renovate their conference rooms. The project was small (total area aprrox. 800m2) so we used 22 dimmer channels of 5A (1 L5112D5LPR6, 1 L5106D5LPR3 and 1 of the discontinued 4ch ones), 3 pieces of L5504AMP for dimming linear fluorescent lights and a couple of 12 channel relays.

    The interesting part was (at least for us) the logic we used for Acropolis room. Acropolis has 4 different set ups. It can be one large conference room but it can be divided also in 2 or 3 smaller rooms. Also it can be used as a dinning hall for weddings etc. Selecting the correct set up from a touch screen, lighting circuits are grouped differently and specific scenarios are available. We find very handy also the possibility to lock Neo switches. Is this a new feature?

    As soon as we get 3 more of L5112D5LPR6 we will commission also their Caf?-Bar- Restaurant.

    We are waiting also if we will be awarded the BMS projects where in cooperation with Johnson controls, we will control HVAC and hopefully via Bacnet Gatway we will deliver a unique system...

    Glad to hear your persistence with the local distributor paid off..

    One of the nice things about the new modular dimmers is that you can mix and match the channel cards. The Architectural series modular dimmers (which are the same chassis but with a more powerful controller and lots more features as a result) are available with a "Ballast Card", which takes the place of a normal channel, and can drive 0-10V, DALI, or DSI ballasts, as well as having a relay out.

    For this reason, it's worth considering going for a slightly bigger chassis than you need (ie buy a 12 if you only need 6), so that you can add a few extra channels later, or add a few channels of dimmable fluoros or LEDs (assuming the LEDs have a 0-10, DSI, or DALI controller). I believe you can order any of the chassis' with any number of channels populated with any type of card.

    In the job you described above, you probably wouldn't do it this way as it sounds like you had quite a few channels of 0-10, but if you only need a few then this saves you another enclosure and wiring etc.

    I assume you're talking about the ability to disable the keypad on a C-Bus switch via a Group Address? This feature was added to Neo/Saturn/Reflection switches with firmware 1.6.00 or newer. DLT, 30 Mech, Modena and Avanti have this feature too. Units with a build date of 2006 or newer should have 1.6.00 or newer firmware in them giving you this feature.

    This feature was introduced as part of a fairly major overhaul of the firmware running in these products at that time.

    Nick,

    I am participating in a tender for a similar project and I need for example 8 dimmer channels of 5A and 2 0-10V channels (+2 relay channels for switching on/off).

    Is it possible to order a L5112D5LPR6 with this configuration rather than ordering 3 units (L5112D5LPR6 + L5504AMP + 5102RVF)?

    Please advise.

    It should be possible to order the 12 channel dimmer with the two of the channels replaced by ballast cards as a "special". We do a lot of these.

    The part number would be

    L1205L8B2PxRy

    12 = 12 channel chassis
    05 = 5A chassis
    L8 = 8 channels of LE dimmer cards
    B2 = 2 channels of ballast cards
    P = Pro+ series dimmer
    x = the number of MCBs you require
    Ry = the number of RCDs you require

    Not all combinations of x and y are valid... so if you tell me what you want I'll tell you if it's possible. I'm guessing you probably want x = 12 and y = 6, which means you'll get 12 MCBs (one for each channel) and 6 RCDs

    Is there a document to help me understand the different possible configurations?

    Does the ballast card have a relay output also for switching on/off?

    Because in your example L8+B2 = 10 channels, the chassis is 12 and I need 2 relay channels also.

    Not really... it's an internal document only... normally the sales reps would work through this with the specials coordinator. If this is too hard from your side of the world, you can always order a straight 12 channel chassis and the extra ballast cards and swap them out yourself - you'll just end up with a few spare dimming cards.

    Yes.. it switches on whenever the channel is on.

    Are the relays to go with the analog channels? If so then you don't need separate relays, as they are included on the ballast cards.
