Problem with 5031NMML?

    Hi there

I have four 5031NMML and slave switches each programmed to control fans with lights in four bedrooms. The lights are wired into universal dimmer units (L5504D2U) and the fans to sweep fan controllers (L5501RFCP) Three of the 5031NMMLs work perfectly.

The fourth has been turning on/off other lights when the button programmed to turn on the fan is pressed. Using the Control Systems IP Utility, when I press the switch to turn on the fan, the switch appears to be sending out the following commands: turn one light to 1% (GA 68 which is the light in the fan/light), three other lights off (GA 32, 38 and 14 which have no relationship with this fan/light) and one other light to 4% (GA 5 which also has no relationship to the fan/light). The behaviour is entirely repeatable.

I have carefully checked the programming/configuration for this switch and it is identical (other than the devices it is programmed to control) from the three working 5031NMML. No where in the configuration of this switch does the programming mention GA 32, 38, 14 or 5).

I have checked the physical wiring of the switch and it looks fine. I plan to do a factory reset and reprogram it.

But I was wondering if I possibly have a hardware problem with the switch? Could it be sending out spurious c-bus commands?

    Thanks for any advice
    Glenn

You refer to the IP utility but I don't think this does what you describe... do you mean the Diagnostic Utility?

Can you post a log from the Diagnostic utility that shows the commands that result when you press the problem button?

Nick ... yes I meant the Diagnostic Utility. I'll post the output from that when I get home this evening.

It looks like unit 121 is the 5031NMML, and unit 18 is the Fan Controller, and the Fan controller is using group 74.

It also looks like you might have a scene hiding in unit 121 which is being triggered by the same trigger group assigned to the fan controller key.

I assume the other events from unit 121 (turning group 68 off/on/off) were you pressing a different key?
