If you are a Comfort user and have their CBUS interface module, there is a poll for enhancement to allow for long messages - so they can support sending information such as Text to DLTs (and perhaps more once this is supported)

You can find the poll here- http://comfortforums.com/forum11/1454.html

Hopefully, the protocol information will be published in the future to allow the Comfort module to send group allocations to a CBUS switch. Benefits are when the Alarm is in Away mode, we can essentially set all switches groups to <null> - if there is an intruder, they won't be able to control anything and we can control lighting (is flashing). Clipsal - at least tell Cytech how to do it, even if we aren't supposed to know ! thnx :)

Cytech have been C-Bus Enabled parteners for some years and have had the protocol information for sending long message, including DLT labels.

As for changing the programming of groups in units: nope. Not likely.

Let me tell you a story. Cbus Toolkit - you know the beast... well, it supports every single product ever made, including all their strange vagueries and every single firmware version. At last count there are over 1000 combinations of product and firmware version. That level of support from a non-clipsal product, which is 100% reliable and which does not cause support calls TO CLIPSAL aint going to happen, ever. So don't ask, 'cos its not a happenin' thing.

He wasn't claiming that C-Bus ToolKit is 100% reliable, he is saying that there is no chance at all of a third party developer having their software compatible with all of those products. It would also be nearly impossible to have it updated on a regular basis as new products are released.

By the way, Comfort has since implemented the ability to send text messages to DLT since August 2010 in UCM/CBus 5.216
