    Hi all,

I have done a job where the customer wanted a PIR in the bathroom to switch the lights on when its dark for a couple of minutes. I used blocks on the switch to disable the sensor when you turn the lights on and enable it when you turn the lights off.

The problem is there is no way to tell if the PIR has turned on the lights or the button has been pushed. Is there a way to have the indicator light on the button flash or have the indicator orange for PIR and blue when the button is pushed?

    Thanks

    Hi Fresh,

What switches do you have? and do you have any logic device on your system?

The PIRs LED will be flashing if it has turned the lights on.

Use separate groups for the switch and the PIR and the OR function in the output unit logic tab. Then you don't need to disable/re-enable the PIR and the switch light will only be on when the switch is used.

You need to create separate groups for the PIR and the switch. e.g "Bathroom Switch" and "Bathroom PIR". Assign the switch ga to the switch as usual, then the pir GA to the pir. In the output unit, set the switch ga up as normal to control the channel. Select the logic tab and on the first line tick the channel that controls the load, then select the pir GA from the list. Under the channel select MAX if it is a dimmer, or OR for a relay. Now either the switch or the pir can turn on the load. Only the switch ga will control the indicator on the switch. If the indicator is off and the the light is on, you know the pir did it (it's led will also be flashing).

Another suggestion using you original config change the switch to a timer and set its time value to the maximum about 18hrs then the Led on the switch will flash as you wanted originally. Use a toggle timer then it can be switched off as normal or if forgotten turn off automatically.
