Good day everyone! Does anybody have practise of geting the value of outside temperature from internet to c-bus? I'll explain, in logic I should write the condition, in wich outside temperature would be compared to some constant value, but in current system there is no sensor of outside temperature and no possibility to include new one in this system. How can I get the value of outside temperature from internet? (there is Wiser in the system)

With the Wiser you should be able to write some script that will scrape temperature data off a webpage then you should be able to store that as a variable. Sorry I don't have any examples of this but I do recall someone mentioning doing something similar on the forum a while ago.

It really depends upon both the reliability of what data is availability and in what format. I can scrape the temperature from the local weather bureau site but it is not updated regularly enough for me.

If you can paste a link to the web page from where you intend to get the temperature, I'm sure we can help you

Has anyone else done this? Would like to display the outdoor temperature on my eDLT if possible...

Where are you hoping to get the outside temperature from? A local (C-Bus) sensor or from an online source?

OK.. What devices do you have that connect both to online and C-Bus? Colour touchscreen? SHAC? A device that runs Home Assistant (or similar)?

I have a server running C-gate 3.2 that's connected to a 5500PC serial interface. I run Homebridge rather than Home Assistant at the minute.

I used to do something similar.

A Homebridge plugin the present temperature as a sensor.
A plugin that syncs the sensor with C-Bus, https://github.com/anthonywebb/homebridge-cbus
A channel on the Measurement Application for presentation of the value.

At the time I couldn't find a plugin for the Australian BoM forecast so I wrote one myself. You could modify this if you cannot find one that covers Belfast, https://github.com/sgraystar/homebridge-bom-ftp-temperature

tbh, I find Home Assistant more robust and is a swiss army knife of integrations.

I've gotna bit stuck on this mate. I have a Hive home thermostat and I'm wondering if there's any way to set the temperature using an eDLT? Do you think it can be done? I have the Homebridge-cbus plugin setup and working.

When controlling a Daikin AC I used separate cbus groups for wanted functions, e.g. power, mode, set point, fan speed.
Then you need to sync these somewhere with the corresponding thermostat functions, so you are back to logic somewhere. Homekit automation is basic, or node-red is popular but again something I have never tried.

Just saw your message. That's kinda what I've been working on. I set one of the eDLT buttons as a dimmer pointing to a dummy group. However when I nudge the values up and down, they range from 1-255 on the actual eDLT, but in Homebridge it will only show the percentage rather than the actual number. So the numbers are misaligned. I can't think of a way to get round it. Any ideas?

    No solution.
I ended up using % = setpoint in the gui's, and the %-level conversion was hidden.
Maybe explore some of the homebridge dummy devices to see if you can use one to perform the conversion.

It's just annoying that on the eDLT it says % instead of °C but don't think there's any way to change it.

On a side note, I assume C-Bus isn't being developed any more? Looks like I picked a dead end solution for all my home automation.

Have you checked the suffix on the measurement channel you are using?

Not sure what you mean. I'm not using a measurement channel.
