Open failed: Not enough lines of MMI response

    Trying to open two networks connected together via a bridge, I can open the side I'm connected to but cannot get through the bridge. Open failed: Not enough lines of MMI response

    Info from the Help in toolkit states
    Not enough lines of MMI response. This is a message generated by the wired bridged networks or wireless gateways when C-Bus network messaging cannot proceed because the local network connection is not working.
    Given this little clue I would suggest just opening the local network and checking that its working correctly.
    things to look for check voltage at various points on the network.
    quality of electrical connection.
    patch leads clicked in solidly, (maybe worth taken them out and cleaning the plugs)
    Clock and burden setting.
