Heres a weird one. Haven't checked with CIS yet but does anyone have an answer to this problem?
I try to connect to my house and through a USB or a CNI i only get the option to create a NULL project. When i scan the network my devices are all there in the database but the network only has one device....the CNI or the USB interface...which ever is the one i connect with.
The only thing i have added is a colour touchscreen but it worked fine for a few weeks after adding it and the power & burden etc are all fine. I have tried removing the colour touch but still nothing. i have tried the wiser CNI, a standard CNI, a serial interface and 2 USB interfaces. Every time i scan I only get the option to create a new NULL project. I can select my project and force load it but still only scans 1 device on the network. Through the lighting application tab i can control all my groups manually on the computer but can not scan the network. All my cbus is working fine as it has for many years. This is a new problem to me and can't seem to find any similar problem in the forums that has been answered. I have tried the latest version of toolkit also with no success.. My laptop also connects to all my clients networks with no issue at all. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thankyou

    Getting close....

CIS don't seem to have come across this null project before coming up on a network that works fine. Seems to be possible if burden/clock/power issues are present. I have been through all devices and checked power/burden/clock settings and all checks out. It hasn't been changed much in 7 or so years.
Managed to spend a bit of time this morning and tonight problem solving. Started from scratch with PCI and 1 relay at 1 of the cbus boards. Managed to scan that board and got a total of 12 devices up. When I connected the outgoing cable for the rest of the house...same problem. Could only scan PCI and got the message "0 devices connected". All the switches, touch-screens, music, sensors and M1Gold interface all work fine. They work fine in the house and can control them all through PICED and TOOLKIT but cannot scan the network. When I do scan it comes up with 1 unit and calls my project NULL.
Started at another board and exactly the same problem. Managed to get 8 devices scanned until connecting out going to rest of house.
Diagnostic software shows traffic analyser as you would expect. Traffic flowing on sensor movement, switch operation, music etc...all working fine but can not scan network with whole network connected even though it all works fine.
Will start disconnecting units tomorrow 1 by 1 and scanning in between to hopefully isolate a faulty unit.

    Hi
Are you using a hardware or software burden?
If you are using software burden could you try a hardware one?

    Burden

    Hi Daryl,
Have tried software and hardware. My PCI sits at address 001 and has software burden enabled. I tried a hardware burden and disabled the PCI burden last night and same problem.

    Found it!

Turned out to be a cbus amp. As soon as this amp was disconnected the network scanned fine with my original project name coming up. As soon as the amp is back on the network...Null Project. Never come across a Null Project before and don't want to again!
