    Hi Ray,

This is a very truncated version as I can only spare a few minutes typing at the moment. Hope it gets you going.

Firstly, unlike the black Wiser, for wireless there is a tiny switch on the back to turn it on or off. You may find it off. It needs configuring first anyway but you should be able to see the Wiser_Home_Control SSID being broadcast.

To attach to the Wiser, use a LAN ethernet port on the back of the Wiser. You need to be on the same IP subnet as it, by default it starts out being 192.168.2.1 and the CNI being 192.168.2.2. Make your configuring PCs IP address something like 192.168.2.4 and then plug in.

You said you had already set the CNI and I assume you used Clipsal IP utility to do that.

Next, create a new project in PICED and select Wiser (white). Fill in all the correct details in the 'Project Details' section, but particularly take note of the 'Wiser' section and in it the Wiser IP address you want to use and the default gateway which should be set to what you want to set the unit to eg. 192.168.0.240 mask 255.255.255.0 def gw 192.168.0.1 (which suits the default config for most Telstra/Optus routers internal subnets), The DNS can usually also be the def gw address as well and also set and record a password and tools password. Also set the CNI IP address that you used in the Clipsal C-Bus IP Utility when you set it up before. Obviously it needs to be on the same subnet as the Wiser and a different IP address on that range, eg 192.168.0.241 CNI, 192.168.0.240 WISER.

Ensure Projector Control is enabled (and Toolkit access etc is enabled if desired) and that 'access Wiser from LAN ports' is tick boxed.

After exiting Project Details, go into Widget Manager and add a few groups. It should see the Tag names/group addresses in your project if C-Gate has the project tag database correctly configured. Create a few locations like Lounge, Kitchen, Outside and a few function groups like Lighting, Blinds, Fans etc. Add a few simple C-Bus lighting relay or dimmer widgets for a few of your light group tags/addresses, allocate them to a room/location and/or function group, then hit Ok at the bottom and go back to the main menu, save an initial project.

Next choose transfer to unit. Select Auto-Search. It should find Wiser (white) in the auto-search box, if so, highlight it. You can then transfer your project as long as it has 'no errors'. After uploading the project which should complete if all is well, it will say it is rebooting for 2 minutes.

Now, using your browser, you should be able to attach to the Wiser by using the URL 192.168.2.1, username and password are as per the manual. Wiser GUI should open on your PC.

    Either:

    1. Select the tools menu, then choose system utilities. It will then open the Router interface. This looks different than the black Wiser unit (see attached image) but has pretty much the same entries as before.

    or

    2. Type 192.168.2.1/home.asp into the browser which should take you direct to the LAN setup section.

    then

Set the IP address you set in your 'project details' section in PICED and set it to static, (also disable DHCP if you have another router on your network serving this function, like your internal broadband router).

After changing the IP address, it will again reboot. You will now need to change you PC's interface to an IP address on your normal subnet eg. 192.168.0.177.

If all is well in the browser you should now be able to login using the new IP address. The CNI should be plugged into one of the 4 LAN ports (not the WAN port) and it should be able to be pinged from the PC also. The widget should be able to talk to and manipulate your group address if the C-Bus is connected to the Wiser CNI.

Hope there's enough detail there to get you talking at least and then you can configure using one of the many other 'guide' posts eg. Roosta's in 'Pearls of Wisdom' at the top of the Wiser group.

    All the best,

    Brad
