I think the engineers probably like some space between modules and the heat they generate.

Is there any improvement or advances on the housing front?

There doesn't appear to be housings that is setup specifically for C-Bus. In particular protected neutral bars. I would have thought that a series specifically designed for C-Bus installations would be a viable product.

Looks like I will be modifying some more housings. :(

PS Looks like I should move to the USA. http://www.schneider-electric.us/su...ail&oid=0900892680354dd5&cat=0b00892680397e8a

Why not try Schneider Australia and see if they can get it in, then just hit up the your Local supplier.

It is a huge cabinet for 5 module.

Very surprising that this issue is still around too.

    Nice!

The info on the Clipsal site is very thin. Any pointers to the lay out of the guts?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, search didn't get me an answer and this was the closest most relevant thread I could find.

I want to put a CBUS 4 channel relay in a server cabinet but I can't find a suitable 8 or 12M wide enclosure to put it in (for electrical isolation). I want something small, neat and compact, not one of those large surface mount enclosures with lid. Something like a 4CC4 but twice as wide. L&H had nothing suitable....are there any data installers on the forum here who can suggest something? Thanks in advance.

I have used the Clipsal 4FCC60 for a C-Bus installation. The main problem I found was that although the board was not fully occupied, the space for running cables across the top, bottom and on each side was insufficient, especially for the board that was used as the main switchboard.

bring back up an old thread but I don't suppose you have a photo of the inside cabling work?

These look great for a residential install but just concerned over space after reading other comments. I'm contemplating a few of these.

If there is one thing I have learnt doing C-Bus it is this...domestic boards are not big enough.

I use the Schneider prisma range for domestic installs, tonnes of room, big as you like, and the price is not too bad really

    Hi Guys,

Back again, this time working on a new build that our daughter and SIL are about to start. So blow the dust off the ol grey cells and roll the sleeves up again. :)

Just wondering if there has been any new enclosures that have hit the market over he last few years? My last install I did up in FNQ I used a couple of Clipsal metal can 4 rail 12 module wide version 4C48FD.....the ones Mike shows in an earlier post. Did the job but had a sub board for RCBO's.

Also had to do quite a bit of engineering to put in protected neutrals for each output units.

Have not completed the final layout doing that with the kids ATM but it is looking like I will be needing 5 DIN rails possibly 6 so more than likely two housings. Definitely want to put the RCBO's in the same housing next to the output units and ideally have the housing already set up with protected neutrals of each output unit.

Has there been any revalations on the C-Bus housing front? Is the Jetstream range still the Cliplsal offering or are there other housings available that more closely fit the bill I have describe?

    Cheers,

    Fleetz

Cheers Daryl......exactly what I described! :) will contact them on Monday.

Like being able to get 2x 12 module plus 2x RCBO's on one rail with 3 modules spare. Looks to have good cable management and space for cables.

    Regards,

    Fleetz
