Its perhaps not widely known, but any of the Key Units that contain the Neo Firmware (Neo, Saturn, Reflection, DLT) are capable of supporting their PRIMARY Application AND the Trigger Control Application.

Devices that respond to Trigger Control Application Messages cause a defined set of actions to occur, one time only, each time the trigger message is received. The actions taken are typically to emit one or more new C-Bus messages (generally on another Application), or to output information on some other medium (for example, simple Infra-Red codes to control Televisions, VCRs, etc). Triggering scenes in a C-Touch etc.

This means that from a single Neo key unit you can control Lights AND cause other things to happen in your installation, based on Trigger Control Messages.

Its important to note that the Trigger Control Application is based around "Action Selectors". Each of the 255 Trigger Control Groups can have 255 Action Selectors. Trigger Control Groups and Action Selectors are sort of analagous to Lighting Groups and Levels.

Units that respond to Trigger Control messages "listen" for the specific Action Selectors that they are programmed to respond to, in reponse to a specific Action Selector being triggered, they will do their thing.. Broadcast a Scene, Turn on a TV, shut some blinds, open some blinds.. etc..

To cause a Neo/Saturn/Reflection Key to emit a Trigger Control Action Selector you need to program the Key to be a "Scene Key", when you program a Key to be a Scene Key, Toolkit allows you to select one of the Trigger Control Groups, and one of the Action Selectors within that Group. Its also necessary to pick one of the 10 scenes on that plate to make this happen. Therefore it may be necessary to create a "Dummy" Scene on the Neo Plate that contains just a single group that is not associated with any Load.

ALL keys on a plate that are causing Trigger Control messages to be broadcast use the SAME Trigger Control Group, but any of the 255 Action Selectors within that Group. A small limitation.

So, there you go.. A Neo that turns lights off and on, and can control the TV or other devices on your Network.

so if i wanted to control - pumps, blinds, tv etc from the one switch then would all have to use the same trigger control but at diffferent levels - 10%, 20%,30% etc

Yes, the same "Trigger Control GROUP" but different Action Selectors on that Group.

Please dont think in terms of Pecentages for Action Selectors.. they are discreet values from 0 to 255. Some happen to map to percentages accurately.. but that offers no value in Toolkit world.

    Duncan,

You mentioned 'pick one of the 10 scenes on that plate to make this happen'. Did you mean 8 Scenes

You can make any Neo or Reflection with firmware 1.4.0 or a Saturn with firmware 1.5.00 send out commands on the Trigger Control application by creating a Scene, assigning the Trigger Group and Action Selector to that scene and then simply leave the scene empty. Each time the key is pressed the TG + AS will be transmitted on the network. You don't need to change the unit primary application to do this.

On Neo/Saturn/Reflection units using firmware 1.6.00 or newer you can also assign the secondary application to Trigger Control, however if you can do what you need with an empty Scene then that is the better way to go.

When will the firmware be updated to support multiple GA scene functions?

You know perfectly well that there will be no committment given to a firmware update, nor will a release date be posted here.
