MODBUS protocol

Someone posted, don't remember where, that Modbus gateway Clipsal Malaysia had, is discontinued....

 

too bad... they did not even try to sell it.

So maybe now they could release their program, which converted C-Bus to ModBus? =) so we can use it on other Linux devices?

 

The problem, I believe, is the luck of extensive use of these products.

For instance Schneider UK will not import the Bacnet Gateway. I posted about in a UK forum and only one replied that he would use it....

By the way, I believe that these special products should be offered directly to integrators in countries like mine that there is not a wider interest. Maybe through PointOne accreditation.

 

I think that if it was really available, it would have a good use:

1. ventilation / other engineering equipment would become a part of smart home system easily
2. HVAC companies would consider C-Bus as a good extension to their usual equipment

I also think that there is no need to make a special device. Wiser could be configured as a ModBus TCP interface.
