    Hello Charles.
This may not be of any help to you, but we had a similar issue a few years back on a project where another AV installer changed over some audio hardware (non C-Bus). When he put all the equipment back, the matrix switcher C-Bus RJ45 wasn't seated correctly. Later that day, the client went to change a zone from a DLT and the brown stuff hit the fan. We did the same as you after reseating C-Bus feed, power cycled the matrix switcher and all was ok.

    Hey Charlie,

I had this problem before. It was due to accidentally crossing digital audio cables between two amps ie into the wrong sockets eg Zone 3 to 4, Zone 4 to 3 during a repatch. It was fixed by going into each amp in Toolkit and hard setting them manually to the right matrix switch and zones manually.

After it was fixed and the 'broadcast storm' stopped, you could put it back to auto, or just leave it set manually.

    Hope that's it.

    Thanks

you might be on to something here. there was a repatch 2 weeks ago. maybe a zone that has not been used for 2 weeks has just been used.

I will check and report back. CIS if this is the case it should be reported as a bug and fixed in the firmware (as well as the door bell issue) A device should not be able to take the network down even if misconfigured or patched !

Thanks all. The patching was the issue. two amps were crossed patched.

Doing something like this would make a device fail c-bus certification :)

It is a nice little time bomb you can leave a customer with. Cross patch and nothing goes wrong till some one turns on the amp ! (tested that today)
