I have been sucessfully using Clipsal CBus for a while with programming via the USB port on a PAC via a Laptop computer. This works well but everything is done in like a batch mode. I am told that with the latest version of toolkit you can create a live connection via the RS232 port on a PAC to a PC. Is this correct and is there any documentation on how to do this?
    Many thanks for your help.

There have been no changes to how this works.

There are three "modes" of operation for the PAC:
    1. In normal operation, the PAC does not use the USB connection and may use the serial (RS232) ports if needed for the logic.
    2. When updating the PAC project, the PAC communicates with PICED via the USB port. The serial ports are not used. During this time, logic does not run.
    3. When using the PAC as a PC Interface (for example for ToolKit), the PAC communicates with ToolKit via the USB port. The serial ports are not used. During this time, logic does not run. The PAC stays in this mode until the USB cable is disconnected.
