Hi all, another newbie here sorry. Just started managing a research facility which has a lighting system controlled by a C-Cus system, and we have been having a number of issues. Our lights are supposed to turn on at a set time in the morning, and slowly ramp up their intensity over a period of time until they are at 100% brightness. The reverse is supposed to happen in the evenings. However, we have found that the actual lights do not appear to be "ramping" as they are supposed to do (accoding to our datalogging light sensor. The technician has been up a couple of times to check the issue out, but according to him, the program is working fine and the light are rampling. Staff have often found that often when the lights should be on at 100%, they can clearly see that they are not operating at full capacity, but if the light switch is manaully turned on and off again, the lights will come on at full strength. A colleague has a similar system and was having similar issues but said he has found that every time he has a power cut, he has to reset the C-Cus system, otherwise the programs seem to go haywire.

We have also found in one room that is supposed to only have red lights come on, but we find that often after a power cut, even though the lights are turned off, they will actually turn on again and light the room with white light?

Has anyone else had any issues like this, or have any ideas what to do about it please? Thanks in advance

I'm guessing, but based on your description it sounds like it's likely to be a C-Bus system using DALI for the luminaires, in which case the power recovery of the system may not have been set up correctly.

Was the technician that you had look at it from the company that designed the installation?

If not, I'd suggest you get in touch with the original installers.

Otherwise you're probably going to need some expert help, so you should probably contact Clipsal Customer Care who should be able to recommend someone in your area.
