I have programmed my bosses house and it has been up and running for a few months now, however the other day i discovered that when i turn the switch on the light comes on, go's off for a second, comes back on and then turns off and doesnt come back on. It happens in a few different rooms but only where there are 3 lights on that channel. However where there are only 2 lights or 4 lights on any channel those lights work perfectly fine. I have changed there max output to 70% and it works fine now. Does anyone know what this problem may be?? Cheers

    Hi Troy,

Your problem sounds like a load related issue with your LED driver and is often an LED/LED Driver not well suited to dimming. Is it on a universal dimmer or a standard leading edge one. If it is the later, are the drivers leading edge dimmable?

The issue can often be resolved by slightly increasing the load and many other threads on here have suggestions such as adding an iron core transformer into the circuit in parallel to add load.

Clipsal have recently announced the 31LCDA load correction device to help alleviate these sorts of issues which can be useful in fixing lower quality / marginally dimmable LEDs. Take a look here.

You may also get a better result if you set the ramp rate to instantaneous rather than the 4 second default. Some LED drivers don't like being slowly ramped up to the level preferring more current to come on initially.

Good Luck with it, LEDs from sources unknown can be a PIA.
