I was going through the C-Bus Product Overview Catalog and on pages 60 & 61 are two output units that caught my attention.

    Are these new?

Page 60 - Dimmer CFL and Mains LED Bypass Module (5501OSRBD and 5001OSRBD)

Page 61 - LED Load Driver Module (5501LD and 5001LD)

? Adapts dimming behaviour of phase cut
    dimmer output
? Used for direct control of various extra low power
electronic load types (such as CFLs and mains
    powered LEDs)

Is this the answer to our problems with of dimming LED's on non universal dimmers?

A search for more information yields nothing more about them.

Hoping for some [LED] light at the end of the tunnel.

    Mick

    No comments for this?

I was hoping it may be something new that would save me from replacing my dimmers just so I could use LED's

    Bump / Same question
They are also on page 368 of the "edition 92" TPG.

Back in the day, product managers and reps used to love telling us about the new products they have been working so hard on that will make our life better and increase sales.

Any CIS (oops sorry) Schneider Electric Clipsal partner business folks anything to say?

According to the back page of that brochure it was published in June 2013 so if it hasn't materialised by now I doubt it will which is a shame.

We were told by Schneider Electric UK that they were discontinued as obsolete which is strange since they were never released and there isn't any replacement. No sign of them in the SE ordering system either.

This is one area where C-Bus has let the ball drop big time - LED support.

    Shame really

Discontinues would imply that it was available at some point in time. More like its vapor ware and never saw the light of day
