have just finished our first c-bus install with great success, what a great product.
have finished commissioning install and got called back about a week after
customer moving in to have them say "that we have not been able to turn
certain lights since we moved in."
went back to job to find the to check everything, make sure it wasnt a programming error etc, which it wasnt turns out that not only had about 10 relays poles failed in on position ,but also various relays were letting voltage through (120volts in same cases) in the off state, which was enough to keep the l.e.d light in the house at a lo glow.
any one else come across this?
will be calling clipsal rep in morning.
most of the relays were 8channel 1amp dimmer (with .6amp per channel max)
    any thoughts?

This is normal for a dimmer - do a search on the forum and you will find this has been covered many many times.

To prevent the LED's from staying on you will need to add a load to the circuit. LED's are not normally used on a dimmer because they can not be dimmed.

    Hi,

You seem to be confusing "relays" and "dimmers".. the relays (eg L5512RVF) have actual relays inside, and can only switch loads on or off, whereas the dimmers (eg L5508D1A) have triacs which do phase control and can dim the loads.

Can you confirm whether the "relays" whose "poles failed in the on position" are actually relays, or are they the dimmers?

As znelbok said.. the leakage on dimmer channels is normal.

and as for the l.e.d issue is solved.
some new l.e.ds on sale in nz can be dimmed (lighting pacific .co.nz)

You have posted a problem here and it is good that you have solved it, but in the interest of helping others in the future who may come across a similar problem, how about letting everyone know the solution.

    good call.
the led problem was solved by moving them to relays rather than dimmers (even thought they can be dimmed).
the faulty "poles and dimmers is yet to be sorted, but we are working on it and will keep the forums posted
    thanks
