    Hello sjg
The 5508D1A is an 8 channel leading edge dimmer.
If you need a trailing edge dimmer you will have to use the 4 channel L5504D2U.
Unfortunately it takes the same 12 modules of space but it does have a higher output rating and in some cases you can put many more lamps on a single channel.
In the case of Pierlite Starburst the maximum lamps per channel jumps from 6 to 36 for the universal dimmer.

    Hi Darylmc

Thanks, already have the 8 channel diimers, so looks like I'm buying a pile of new transformers.... or changing the lamps to GU10's

    Cheers
