    Hey There,
A while back I saw in a catalog, Saturn switches with IR receiver windows? In particular in Stainless Steel and Glass Finish, Did these ever come to anything? Or is there an equivalent switch out there? ( not keen on Neo)

    Just Curious,

    :)

maybe they do not want to release it because those switches look pretty dumb?)

Saturn unit fascias are already glass, not quite sure what you mean there.

Saturn units with Stainless Steel fascias are available now. You can get stainless on DLT's too. The order code for a 6-key Saturn unit with a stainless fascia is 5086NL-J80.

Heard a rumour that you can get Saturn units with IR as a special, but I'd bet they cost more. It'd be worth you contacting your local sales rep to see if they know more.

If you want to add IR capability to a room that doesn't have any IR-enabled devices you can discretely install a 5753PEIRL 360 degree multisensor. That will pick up the IR. Other non-Neo options are the C-Bus 30 Mech switch (quite a new product), the 2000 series, the touchscreens or, if you're keen, a 3rd-party IR receiver with an RS232 interface connected to a 5500PAC (+ some time writing some logic code!).

    Not Yet,

Sorry the words was mirror not glass,
Have spoken to CIS, there is still no timeline on the IR intergrated Saturn, SO looks like I'll need to take up your advice and put a PEIRL in the roof, next question though, If I have a 5035TX (5 button left over from a touch screen) Will that talk to the 5753PEIRL? Hmmmm

The answer is... it depends. ;)

The 5753L and 5753PEIRL have gone through a recent hardware spin, which should be in the the distribution chain by now. This change in hardware (which is not externally identifiable on the product) also comes with a change in firmware version. Whilst the hardware change is significant, the end user functionality change is almost zero... however the addition of support for the 5035TX is one of those changes that puts the word "almost" before the word "zero" in that statement.

    • If your 5753PEIRL has firmware version 2.0.00, then the answer to your question is No.
    • If your 5753PEIRL has firmware version 2.3.00, then the answer to your question is Yes.
If it's an updated unit, the box that the unit comes in should have a little white circular sticker with black writing on it somewhere that says "ST7".
