Does any one know of a electrical hour meter that can be connected into a general input module so that a touch screen could display hours on a lamp or is there a hour meter that uses serial that could be connected into a pac and then displayed??

Schneider have a kW/h meter about the size of a circuit breaker that puts out 100 pulses per kW/h. You can feed the output into a bus-coupler or aux input unit. It's part no is EN-40. It can support a total load of 40A

Are you talking about for a single load (lamp)?

It is simple to use a current clamp with an analogue output for measuring power at the switchboard.

i have mesure hours using touch screens using logic but when pwr is reset the touch screens lose the hrs this is why i need a third party hour meter to count the hours

I haven't played with User-defined SystemIO variables but the help files say that these "provide a means of non-volatile storage"
Could you not count the pulses from Mr Conformist's Schneider kWh meter in a SystemIO variable (rather than a normal variable)?

How would you program the input of this unit that conformist refers to onto a graph on homegate to display the current power usage of that load? logically using logic.. pardon the pun.... but I wouldnt know even where to start if someone could assit it would be greatly appreciated. I get this request all the time.

You don't need to use logic. It is actually very simple:

    1. Use the Power Meter Manager to add your pulse power meters or analogue power meters

    2. Place a graph component on a page

    3. Set the graph component to display the value of the "Power Meter Total" in-built system IO

This should all take less than 5 minutes.

Thanks Darren. Had never seen the power meter manager in homegate.

Will give it a go. Looks like a walk in the park.
