    I have programmed and used a C bus and used crestron seperately as well but now I am working on a project where I have to integrate C bus with Crestron. I need all the help I can get. Can anybody please tell me where to start?

    Thanks

    Have Used Simons module with great success.

    I have only used it for single network control, so I can not vouch for it over multiple networks, or for applications other than lighting 38.

    But it was very good for general lighting control and scenes.

    With a little bit of extra programming you will also do a good scene editing/store if needed.

    The price is worth it if it fits your needs.

    Yes, same problem. Crestron original driver is very bad.

    have anyone seen Crestron working with C-Bus thermostats?

    The trouble I am having is in interfacing

    The interface is easy. Just use a C-Bus PC interface or CNI

    The hard part is implementing the protocol. You can start with the published C-Bus protocol and spend weeks to get it to work but If I were you I would pay the very reasonable amount that Simon charges and have it working within a day

    I dont know of any Crestron modules that communicate to cbus through C-Gate but there is no reason why it wouldnt work.

    Although I think it would be much simpler to use a PCI.

    PCI? u mean use the open protocol documents?

    I have taken a look at them. The question remains: how do I program these onto my crestron processor?

    You would need to build your own module in SimplWindows and Simpl+ IMHO, not worth it. Buy a module that has already been created and tested. You can then use it with PCI or CNI (use an ethernet or serial module in Crestron) and connect the joins in Simple Windows.

    I am programming a crestron processor to control a Clipsal C bus lighting system.
    I have read and understood the serial interface user guide. The serial command in the examples of the guide is in the form:
    \x0538000108BA

    I know 05=header
    38=lighting application address
    00=default
    01=off command
    08= group number
    BA=checksum

    Can anyone please tell me how to assign the group number?

    Cross posting the same question in multiple places only makes us grumpy.

    Please see the answer to the same question that you posted in another thread.
