How limiting it is to have 4 8 and 12 way modules.

Can we please assess the possibility of 2 or 1 way modules and also a lower cost smaller 5A dimming module.

Err, Peter, I think what is being suggested is 1 and 2 channel DIN dimmers and relays. Currently we only have 1 and 2 channel Relay units in a small form factor and they are not DIN. The 1 and 2 channel Pro series dimmers are high current devices, not small.

A valid point to want 1 or 2 channel DIN units, but the down side is that you start using up the amount of units you can have on a network rather quickly. They're also not as space efficient as the larger units. A single-channel DIN Dimmer or Relay would still be at least 4M wide because the size of the C-Bus circuitry and Mains <-> C-Bus isolation requirements are still the same.

Not only as Newman says do you start to crowd up the network with units (and any one who installed the 4 channel relays and dimmers in the 'black box' enclosures will knoww how good it was to have 8 and 12 channel dimmers and relays available, even big houses and reasonable commercial sites can now be done with one network) but also the cost per channel goes up as the uP in a single channel device is effectivly the same as in a multi channel device. As for C-bus RF - keep calm I'm sure it will prove to be worth waiting for.

I still like the idea of a hybrid unit, din mount 12 mod wide, 4 dimm 1A channels, 4 relay channels, one power supply.
Small jobs large jobs it dosnt matter but it might save having to buy 1 12 channel and 1 8 channel, might even reduce the 'load cable' runs.
